A Message from our President
Dear Colleague,
This month is marked by faith and family celebrations, year-end reflections, and New Year preparations. In essence, it is a season of inspiration. We are inspired by stories we hear and people we know. We are inspired to make plans and do better.
Inspiration is powerful. It can push us to finish a difficult task, take a step into the unknown, enhance what we love, fulfill our own dreams, or help others fulfill theirs. In our careers, inspiration has caused us to reconsider current roles and strive for new ones. Inspiration has transformed ideas into organizations.
Sometimes, inspiration is clear - we know what is motivating us to take action. Other times, however, we do not appreciate inspiration that has quietly snuck in and molded our thoughts and behaviors until we look back and recognize the turning point in hindsight. We often wonder how we didn't see it coming...or marvel at how we denied it so strongly until it just took hold. Either way, once it happens, there is no going back. We are changed forever.
As we consider inspirations in our pasts that have had lasting impact on our current (and future!) lives, we invite you to respond to our end-of-year, one-question survey asking about your first foray into the
world of nonprofit organizations. We will share your inspirations with others in our January ezine issue.
